IVF Nurse 3 just called. My beta today, 9dp5dt, is 33. She claims to be cautiously optimistic and stresses that a rising beta is more important than what number the beta started at. I am not so optimistic, I think I know where this is headed.
I'm so sorry that this too has been a rollercoaster for you. I can understand your emotions being all over the place. 33 is better than anything UNDER 33, just remember that. And also- so she said the chance of m/c is 30%- that means your chance at NO m/c is 70%- keep that in your head too. Do you go back on Friday for a repeat beta? When does your husband come home? Keep up the hope! I'll be thinking about you- (HUGS)
I want you to go to http://babymed.com/tools/pregnancy/hcg/Default.aspx if you put in your 33 and any # for the second value, you'll see it is just below average on their scale, and not all the way to "low". That should be encouraging for you. Also, go to betabase.info. I think that should reassure you too. (HUGS) again.
I hope it's enough to get you through the next couple of days until the next beta that the nurse and the blogosphere are cautiously optimistic for you.
"My story is important not because it is mine, God knows, but because if I tell it anything like right, the chances are you will recognize that in many ways it is also yours. Maybe nothing is more important than that we keep track, you and I, of these stories of who we are and where we have come from and the people that we have met along the way because it is precisely through these stories, in all their particularity, as I have long believed and often said, that God makes himself known to each of us most powerfully and personally."
June 01: Hubby and I got married. June 04: Had emergency surgery to remove hole in small intestine. Diagnosed with Crohn's disease. Sept 07: We stopped BCP and started TTC. Sept 07-Jul 08: Off and on TTC. Aug 08: Met with GP and had the "I think there is something wrong discussion." Referred to RE. Sept 08: First visit with RE (Dr. Cupcake). Ultrasound showed that I was naturally producing an egg from each ovary. So much hope. Sept 08: Hubby has SA. He is superman! Oct 08: I have 1st HSG. Done at an outside diagnostic center. Uncomfortable and unclear. 1 tube blocked, the other "marginally functional" ???? Oct 08-Jan 09: Timed intercourse with monitering, Ferma and trigger shot. (I think 5 cycles.) Here from L&F. I'm not sure where exactly you are in your cycle.. but I had a beta of 30 at 12dpiui, and 60 at 14dpiui.
Hoping and praying for good news!
